Jazz fusion band Spyro Gyra has been announced as the headline act for the 2013 Jazz Eureka festival which runs September 13th through 15th. Spyro Gyra is a jazz fusion band that formed in the mid-1970s. The band’s sound has its roots in traditional jazz, but combines elements of R&B, funk and pop music and is known for their mastery over their instruments and the energy for their live performances. Spyro Gyra will perform on Saturday, September 14th at 7:30 p.m at The Auditorium at 36 S. Main Street. Tickets are on sale now at www.theauditorium.org and range from $20 to $42.50.
Friday evening in Basin Spring Park from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m, will be a Sunset Serenade with free music and a dance by the Fayetteville Jazz Collective, an 18 piece big band of Northwest Arkansas’ finest musicians.
On Saturday from noon until 6pm will be free music in Basin Spring Park. The lineup includes:

3pm-4:30pm Walter Savage Trio
4:30pm-6pm NSU Jazz Quintet
On Sunday at 1pm the Missouri State Jazz Band will perform in Basin Spring Park.
